Kent Training and Apprenticeships

Kent Training and Apprenticeships (KT&A) have been supporting people to gain qualifications and develop skills for over 30 years. Working with large and small organisations across Kent, we offer high quality accredited and bespoke training and qualifications.

We offer a range of opportunities for learners looking to take the next step in their career, including:

KT&A Supported Internships

If you are aged 16 to 24 we will help you develop the skills, experience and qualifications you need to succeed. A KT&A Supported Internship is a study programme, based mostly with an employer that will give you support and enable you to gain paid employment, helping you get the skills that you need through learning in the workplace.

Work Ready (Study Programme)

If you are aged 16 to 18, joining our Work Ready programme will help you get into work, a Traineeship, or further studies. Gain the valuable skills that employers are looking for and gain real work experience, as well as, receiving support to improve your English or Maths skills.

If you are aged 16 to 24, our Traineeship programme could help you to get a job. Your Traineeship programme will be tailored to you, with accredited English and Maths qualifications (as required) and real work experience to help you progress with your career.

KT&A Apprenticeships are delivered by experts in your chosen industry. We make sure you get the right skills to begin building your career. We help match you to an employer who gives you on-the-job training and pays your wages meaning you can earn as you learn.

Work Based Training

If you are aged 19 or over and in employment, you may be funded to gain qualifications and additional skills through work-based training.

Essex AAN Case Studies

Have you thought about employing an apprentice?

This brochure is designed with employers in mind and is intended to give a snapshot into some of the exciting things happening here in Essex.

The case studies featured are in those key skills areas highlighted as key to the growth of the Essex regional economy but apprenticeships occur across all business sectors.

The Covid pandemic has seen particular hardship for some key sectors, notably hospitality, but all of these case studies were undertaken since it started, showing how they remain vital to boosting business success.

Essex County Council are striving to increase apprenticeships within the county. To provide quality opportunities for learning and development to strengthen the Essex economy.

Levy paying businesses can transfer up to 25% of their annual funds to other businesses to fund apprenticeship training. The Levy transfer service will help to facilitate this.

Large organisations can utilise unspent levy to create a vibrant and diverse economy. Gifting your levy to strengthen your supply chain, demonstrate corporate social responsibility or to create strategic partnerships. The Essex market will also enjoy increased skill provision becoming robust and providing Essex businesses the skilled labour force they require.
